The Design Council is a charity incorporated by Royal Charter. We’re governed by a newly appointed Board of Trustees, responsible for the governance, strategic direction and financial management of the Design Council.

We receive grants from the Department for Business Innovation and Skills and the Department for Communities and Local Government. We’re also funded by other sources.

At the Design Council, we endeavour to excel in all that we do and a complaint can provide us with the opportunity to improve an area of our work.

Data protection

The Design Council complies with the eight Data Protection Act principles as stated in the Data Protection Act 1998, which strikes a balance between the rights of individuals and the interests of organisations that have a legitimate business case for holding and using personal information.
