The Design Council offers reliable, high quality equipment for use at your event.
Internet
Internet access is available via the Design Council’s internal network, and each room features one connected laptop.
Free wireless internet access is also available throughout the building to anyone with a wireless enabled laptop.
Internal network
The Design Council runs an internal network based on a Microsoft Windows platform. We are unable to guarantee the connectivity of any equipment with products from Apple or Linux.
Please inform our events team if you need technical assistance and arrive in plenty of time for our team to set up and test your equipment.
Macs
If you will be using a Mac as part of your event, please inform the events team prior to your event. We strongly recommend you send us any presentations beforehand so we can test them on our machine to guarantee it will work.
PA system
The PA system is available for use in the Presentation Area and Conference Room. This system consists of pre- and power-amplifiers, graphic equaliser, microphone distribution amplifier, a variable input/output amplifier and 10 channel mixer. It can be connected to 8 wireless microphones and has the capability of outputting to TV camera systems providing sound feeds for TV crews and DAT recorders or inputting from data projectors, laptops, and videos.
Technicians
While our facilities team will set up equipment for your event and dismantle it afterwards, you may need technical assistance during your event to ensure everything runs smoothly. We are happy to book the services of an audio-visual technician for you.
