Design Council CABE will be speaking at the 2011 Royal Town Planning Institute Planning Convention.
We are running a workshop to explore the effects of the changing planning system on the creation of sustainable, well-designed buildings and places. Using an expert panel we will discuss the role of good design at all stages of planning. From enabling people and communities to reconnect with their area though neighbourhood plans, to the integral role of design in stimulating economic growth and creating sustainable places.
Our panel have years of experience in planning policy and practice. They will bring real-life examples of economic development and community-led design projects.
The discussion will also cover the role of organisations such as Design Council CABE in improving the quality of the built environment.
The Planning Convention is one of the biggest events for planners in the country. It brings expert speakers together with hundreds of delegates from local authority planning departments, government agencies and the private sector. The theme of this year’s conference is Planning in the Big Society.
