BD4D stands for By Designers For Designers. Founded in 2001 they are a grass roots collective, hosting informal networking events for designers and people in the field of technology around the world.

The brainchild of Ryan Carson (Carson Systems) and Ryan Shelton (Mutado), BD4D was established with the aim of giving creative people opportunities to meet in person and discuss aspects of their work. In subsequent years, BD4D events have been curated in numerous international cities by volunteer members of the online collective.

The BD4D website also hosts a blog about life in the design and web industry, compiled by contributors from across the globe.
