The Innovation and Technology Council

The Innovation and Technology Council provides a forum for the exchange of ideas between the academic and business communities in the West Midlands.

It also plans to improve the region’s Gross Value Added performance through innovation and technology. It aims to:

• provide effective business and academic leadership to technological innovation in the region
• inspire regional public and private sector organisations to raise their own performance and work better together to improve regional economic performance
• achieve agreement on a small number of actions, which all stakeholders are committed to achieving
• ensure the engagement of a wide range of companies, of all sizes, in policy-making and delivery of action plans
