Brian Valbjørn Sørensen is Chief Special Adviser at The Danish Ministry of Business Affairs & Growth. He has an M.A. in Literature and Sociology and is an expert in design and design policy, cultural policy and the creative industries. After his studies, Brian worked in the US promoting Danish arts and culture in New York as the Danish Consulate General.
Upon his return to Denmark he was appointed as a Special Adviser at The Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs in August 2007. Highlights of his three years there include advising on the feasibility study for Denmark to host the World EXPO in 2020 and working with The Marketing Panel on its recommendations to www.brandingdanmark.dk.
In 2011 Brian was promoted to Chief Special Advisor at Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority working on policies for design and creative industries and responsible for the Design 2020 Vision Committee before taking on the role of Chief Special Advisor at The Danish Ministry of Business Affairs & Growth in mid 2011.
