Innovating through design in public services

Public services are now in a period of austerity. Senior civil servants recognise the need for innovation at this time. There will be a push to re-examine existing provision to identify news ways to create, plan and deliver public services. Design and redesign of public services will be a key way to cut costs without affecting service quality. Design can identify where failures have occurred and increase the productivity of public services.

In a major seminar series, hosted by the LSE Public Policy Group and the Design Council public service leaders will debate the challenges and opportunities for redesigning public services.
