Dott methods

Dott turns the design process on its head by putting the end user first. The Dott methodology adopts a ‘bottom-up’ approach, encouraging both professionals and the public to share ideas and to have greater ownership of the solutions.

From the start of each project it is the end-users who are the focal point of the Dott design process. Practically this means that they work together with clients and designers developing each design solution. While the client puts the goals and resources on the table and the designer brings creative expertise, it is the insight of the end-user that leads to the creation of sustainable answers that become embedded in the community.

The Dott design process has the following stages; diagnosis, co-discovery; co-design; co-develop; co-deliver and legacy. Each stage develops and refines ideas towards a practical reality, where communities are involved throughout the journey.
