Juan Carlos Ortíz Nicolás

Juan Carlos is a Design Ambassador for the Water Design Challenge 2011.

Juan Carlos Ortiz Nicolas was born in Mexico City in 1977.   He enjoys travelling and discovering new places, cycling, cooking, writing and making new designs.

Now living in London, Juan Carlos is writing his PhD on user experience. He wants to understand how consumers experience positive encounters with products. He holds a master’s degree in Design for Interaction from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) and a Bachelor’s degree on Industrial Design at The National Autonomous University of Mexico. He has been lecturer in User Centred Design at undergraduate level.

 

As a professional designer he has been awarded design prizes for creating furniture for people with Alzheimer's disease and for creating conceptual designs that explore new ways of sharing memories within a family.

 

Juan Carlos was the Design Ambassador for Rochester Grammar School, Kent.
