The problem
Curtains are handled regularly, by staff, patients and visitors, but they are hard to clean, which increases the risk of cross-infection.
The design solution
This curtain clip, designed by a team from the Royal College of Art, creates a common touch-point, for anyone opening and closing the curtain.
Fighting infection through design
Each detachable clip has smooth, wipe-clean handles and surfaces that can be cleaned on a regular basis to help minimise the risk of cross-infection.
The clips have an opposing, magnetic charge, and will latch together when the curtains are drawn.
