Local MP Diane Abbott launches Enrich - a new service to keep older adults better connected to their local community
What is Enrich?
Enrich is a Stoke Newington School club aimed at linking older adults from within the local community to students in School.
The idea came as a result of the Keeping Connected Design Challenge, a national schools competition from the Design Council and Technology Strategy Board which partnered students with a designer and asked them to co-design a new service with local older people, and the result is Enrich.
How will it work?
Older adults from across the community and school students will be invited to a range of sessions, starting with cookery and gardening but widening out to any type of activity where there is a clear demand. Stoke Newington School received £5,000 prize fund and will use the money to roll out the programme, and hopefully to embed it as a permanent fixture in the school calendar
