Our work in this area

When persistent challenges can’t be solved by government alone, design is the means to stimulate innovation, solve some of society’s problems, and grow the economy by creating new markets and business opportunities. Public Services by Design helps the public sector innovate

With partners including the Department of Health and the Home Office we set Design Challenges to the design industry to stimulate innovation, solve some of society’s problems, and grow the economy by creating new markets and business opportunities.

The Design Council's Public Services by Design programme wil deliver an estimated £368,000 in efficiency savings per year

With staff morale improved, absence reduced and money saved, customers are now enjoying a more efficient housing service

For a design alert business, every £100 spent on design increases turnover by £225
