The best really work at it
This course is for more senior people from any discipline with a greater level of presentation experience. It covers two-days, which can be run consecutively or with a short break – for example a week – between the days.
The exact content of the course will depend on the management brief received and on the information presented in advance by the participants. In addition to the content covered in Preddy & Co's standard Presentation Skills course, it is likely to include:
- Psychology of behavioural response
- Advanced signposting and pacing
- Power introductions and conclusions
- Increasing personal presence
- Reading body language and monitoring feedback
- Overcoming objections
- Dealing with difficult questions.
Participants will be asked to prepare a full-scale presentation on a work-related subject of their choice. On the first day, this will be given to the rest of the training group and constructively critiqued. There will be an opportunity to make changes to the presentation and to give it again on the second day. DVD recording and playback will be used to enhance the learning; the participants will take away the DVD of their own presentation at the end of the course.
This course runs for two full days, 9.30am – 5.00pm, with short refreshment and lunch breaks.
The course is designed for a maximum group size of four participants: these will be senior people who already have a good understanding of making presentations, but who want to enhance their skills.
Target participants
Senior people in design businesses who need to make successful high-level presentations to clients, prospects and staff
Delegate feedback
"Clear learnings that could be easily implemented during the course and then for future use. Filmed and constructive feedback – instant improvement gave instant confidence. Interactive and enjoyable. Just the right size of group. It was inspirational and so useful, with fantastic helpful hints and non-stop encouragement from Shan that we really could do it! Easy to implement and easy to remember for future presentations."
Fiona Florence, Client Director, Design Bridge
"I was able to asses my progress since the last training course and talk about experiences. I also feel confident that I can apply the learning to my next presentation. It was a valuable experience."
Raj Phull, Senior Designer, Landor
"Practice makes permanently better! I realize how much there is still to know – it’s never ending stuff. I definitely recommend it."
Marcello Minale, Managing Director, Minale Tattersfield
