How can designers help people prepare, plan and be in control of their lives? How can technology shape the way we interact with those we know and those we don’t? How can open data, easier access to networks, and smarter environments help us live better lives?
Clive Grinyer is the Director of Customer Experience at Cisco, IBSG, working with businesses and organisations around the world on thought leadership and future visions of technology. A passionate advocate of customer experience and of design methodologies in both business and public services, Clive has held an array of senior management roles in consultancy and corporate design, and joined Cisco from Orange France Telecom, where he was director of Customer Experience and of Design. There he created a Design and Usability team to develop user interface and customer experience across fixed line, mobile, internet and TV.
Matt Jones is a Principal at BERG, a London design consultancy that was recently named among the top five design firms in the world by Fast Company magazine. Trained as an architect, Matt has worked in the world of digital products and services since 1995. He was creative director for the launch version of the BAFTA award-winning BBC News Online, has worked at Nokia on areas as diverse as RFID/NFC applications of tangible/physical interfaces and the human universal experience of play, and from 2005-2007 was director of user-experience design for Nokia’s Nseries range within Nokia Design. In early 2007 he co-founded and designed Dopplr.com, which grew into an influential and popular start-up travel service, before being sold to Nokia in the autumn of 2009.
