Beatrice is an industrial design engineer and ergonomist with years of experience in design thinking. She has chaired a range of local, regional and national public sector Boards concerned with delivering regeneration based on design quality. She set up ‘Places Matter’ the NW design review panel and was the City of Liverpool Design Champion.

She is the past Chair of the Architects Registration Board, the profession’s UK regulator. Beatrice is heavily involved in the health sector first as Chair of a Primary Care Trust and now as Chair of Mersey Care NHS FT ( a community and mental Health Trust employing over 7,000 staff) She is a member of the NHS Confederation mental health board and a Trustee of the NHS Providers Board , both organisations help develop NHS national policy thinking.

She was a CQC special advisor on governance and a Design Council Built environment expert. Beatrice is passionate about how design thinking has the proven ability transform quality of outcome, drive forward innovation and achieve economic benefits – and also how to learn from mistakes!  Beatrice is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Beatrice chairs the Stewardship Committee.
