Neil is an independent design management consultant and expert in user-centred design and brand development, with over 20 years’ international experience with businesses ranging from start-ups through to global blue-chip corporates.
Neil has worked in multiple sectors including FMCG, Technology, Retail, Children’s Products, Industrial Products, Domestic Appliances, Pharmaceuticals and FinTech. Companies he has worked with include Philips, Tesco, 3M, Electrolux and, through innovation consultancy Viadynamics, he has worked with Unilever, GSK, Abbott Nutrition, Leo Pharma and Britvic, among others.
As a Design Associate for the Design Council, Neil mentors pre-start-up, start-up and SME businesses in the strategic use of design. Companies include World First, Orluna, STS Defence, Visual Planet, Kemtron, University of Nottingham, Imperial Innovations, University of Birmingham, University of Leicester and many more.
Neil has co-authored a book on building brands, is co-founder of WOW Toys and a judge on various design awards. He is frequently asked to speak on the role of design in business success and is a mentor on the CRL start-up incubator programme. He has appeared on BBC2 talking about his role in a start-up and has been interviewed for various industry publications.
