Nick’s experience of working in design and innovation spans nearly 25 years. He trained as a product designer, worked in the Centre for Industrial Design identifying opportunities to apply new product development technology and then moved into digital in the mid-90s, setting up a New Media agency.
Since 2005 Nick has worked independently and collaboratively in sectors that include healthcare, education, public services, space and FMCG and with clients encompassing Johnson & Johnson, Reckitt Benckiser, Learn Direct, NAC Group, Keiro, Newcastle Science City, Geovation and the Satellite Application Catapult.
Nick has worked on a number of initiatives with Design Council including as assistant director on its DOTT (Designs of the Time) project 2007. He has also provided coaching for a number of SMEs as well as Design Council public services projects, such as Northumberland County Council on Amble regeneration; North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnerships’ Growth Hub “How’s Business?”; Northern Advisory Council for Further Education’s (NCFE) QA Accreditation Services and Camden Council’s Births, Deaths and Marriages service.
Nick is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
