Serena Tierney is an intellectual property solicitor and international mediator. She has senior management experience with several FTSE 100 companies and at the European HQ of a US company.

At the last General Election, she was campaign manager for the Lib Dem's top target seat - Teignbridge - which they took, defeating the sitting Tory ex-minister, by the biggest majority of all gains on that night.

Campaign Manager for the winning campaign in Teignbridge in 2001, she joined Young Liberals in 1974, becoming Chair West Midlands Federation in 1975. Campaigner and agent for Cannock Chase D.C. at time of Liberal minority control. She was Chair on Cannock Chase Citizens' Advice Bureau 1982-4, shadowed Richard Younger-Ross, MP, assisting his small businesses campaign Conference representative, Cities of London & Westminster 2001 to 2003 Member Federal Policy Committee 2001/2 and 2002/3 Chair Commerce Policy Working Group that wrote Setting Business Free.  She has supported Lib Dem MPs on intellectual property matters and provided libel advice and training to the party through the Campaigns Department Chair Liberal Democrat 2002 Ball Committee 2002/3.

Serena is a commercial lawyer specialising in copyright, trade marks, designs and patents who has worked in private practice, and in-house for major companies in the UK and Switzerland. She has trained magazine editors in media law, regularly speaks at international conferences and has presented television programmes for UK lawyers. She is also a commercial mediator working in French and English.
