Jennifer O'Donnell

An award winning graduate of the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Jennifer co-founded O’DonnellBrown in 2013, a growing architectural practice with a strong social conscience. Under Jennifer’s leadership the studio has gained early and critical recognition, as the only UK finalist in 2019’s Architectural Review Emerging Architecture Awards, and the studio will be included in the Architecture Foundation’s ‘New architects 4’, a major publication surveying the best British architectural practices established in the past ten years.

More recently O’DonnellBrown were included within the Architect’s Journal 40 under 40, recognising architecture’s brightest up-and-coming talent, where the studio was described as ‘a standout practice’. Jennifer successfully pitched to residential developer HUB and tech-startup Whitehat in 2020, winning the Archiboo-organised ‘Architect Pitch’, a contest for a new generation of ‘life-enhancing’ housing. Jennifer is frequently a guest critic at design reviews and is passionate about teaching young people about the built environment and the social responsibility that comes with shaping it. Jennifer is a studio design tutor at the University of Strathclyde, and previously taught at the Glasgow School of Art.
