Tom Selby

Areas of Expertise

Since joining Croydon, Tom has provided critical advice across all stages of development on numerous strategic and smaller scale development schemes. These have been situated throughout the borough’s varying contexts, and spanning a wide range of typologies. Tom has delivered engagement workshops to schools and community groups and helped lead the delivery of the award-winning Meanwhile Croydon programme and Croydon’s Growth Zone Public Realm programme, in particular the Croydon Minster public realm.

Tom has helped develop planning policy and guidance for areas including rail infrastructure, green infrastructure and housing design via the Croydon Local Plan and the pioneering Suburban Design Guide. Tom is a visiting critic and technical studies tutor for AA Unit EX4, and a mentor with Fluid Diversity programme and Public Practice. Prior to joining the council, Tom worked on the redevelopment of London Bridge Station for Grimshaw Architects. He then joined Heatherwick Studio, working on a variety of projects across the UK, the UAE, and Hong Kong including the Leeds Maggie’s Centre and Al Fayah Park.
