Lucy joined the Design Council as a Programme Coordinator in October 2021. In this role she supports Programmes across Social Innovation and the Built Environment, providing day to day admin, financial and tech assistance.
Previously Lucy has held roles in architectural practice, design journalism and ceramics giving her a broad sense of design and practice. In her most recent position, she worked as a consultant within Neighbourhood Planning, advising on housing needs and helping facilitate workshops. Before the pandemic, Lucy was undertaking a masters degree in Environmental Psychology, stimulating her interest in the relationship between built environment and mental wellbeing.
Lucy has volunteered with a local Social Enterprise since returning to Oxford in 2018. In a long term capacity she has been part of a mentoring programme, supporting siblings on the edge of care. More recently, during the Covid-19 lockdowns, Lucy supported the organisation’s covid-response programme, coordinating deliveries to those in need. These experiences introduced her to the concept of Social Innovation and the work undertaken by the Design Council.
Lucy holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Bath but has strayed away from becoming an architect, in favour of other passions. During her spare time, she can be found pottering around on her allotment and swimming in the rivers of Oxford (weather permitting).
