Future Pioneers discovered at New Designers

Future Pioneers discovered at New Designers

13 March 2014

Overview

This event took place on 3 July 2014.

Join Design Council at New Designers - the UK’s largest exhibition for graduate designers - as we choose our Future Pioneers 2014.

New Designers exhibition

New Designers takes place over two weeks at the Business Design Centre in London, with each week focusing on a different set of design disciplines.

We’ll be at Part 2 which runs from 2 - 5 July to pick around five out of the 1,400 graduates exhibiting to become our Future Pioneers of 2014 - our initiative to celebrate and support up-and-coming designers who are principled, passionate and purposeful.

Look out for the work of our shortlisted designers from 3 July - you’ll spot the Future Pioneers swing tags on their stands.

Afternoon talks

We're hosting two afternoon talks on 3 July which we hope will provide an insight into life as a designer beyond graduation:

Announcing the winners

You can join the celebration by coming along to the Thursday Late on 3 July from 6pm (free with a New Designers exhibition ticket). Our all-star judging panel including Sebastian Bergne and Morag Myerscough will be there discussing what makes a Future Pioneer and announcing their winners at 7pm.

Sweet treats from the Meringue Girls, top tunes from designer-by-day/DJ-by-night Fred Butler, and photo fun from The Mighty Booth that will transform the Talks Theatre into a centre for celebration!

With thanks to PRS for Music for supporting our celebration. PRS for Music licences the use of copyright music across the UK, giving businesses and organisations the legal permission they need to play the music they want. These licences ensure that music publishers, songwriters and composers are fairly rewarded with royalties so they can keep making music.
