Intellectual Property Office launches online digital service for designs

1 October 2015 Written by By Benjamin Brown Policy Advisor (2015 - 2017)

Designers are now able to apply to register a single design at the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) using an online service.

Having researched the barriers to designers applying to register their designs, the IPO has developed a new, user-centred service. This beta version of the service will continue to be improved using ongoing feedback from users.

This is the first time customers have been able to register a design digitally in the UK through the IPO. The paper service is still available.
