Anna Hamilos

Programme Lead

Anna leads capability programmes at the Design Council, helping organisations and places build the skills to design better outcomes for communities. She brings over a decade of experience spanning design policy, systems change and place-based practice.

Anna began her career at the GLA and went on to work at CABE, where she co-authored the Inclusive Design Principles, before working across the London 2012 Olympic programme with the GLA, ODA and Livity. Since then she has worked with Nesta, the National Lottery Community Fund, Careful Industries, New Local and a range of systems change consultancies, focusing on programme design, capability building and partnership development.

She holds an MSc in Town Planning from UCL’s Bartlett School, where her dissertation explored skateboarding and urban governance — a fascination with informal use of public space that still shapes her thinking today.

Outside work, Anna loves to move and dances whenever she can, is a keen grower and maker, with a particular interest in community gardens and permaculture design.
