Senior Events Manager
Matthew is the Senior Events Manager at the Design Council, where he leads the strategic development and delivery of high-profile events that support the organisation’s mission to embed environmental sustainability into the UK design sector. His work includes shaping thought-leadership programmes, panel discussions and industry gatherings, including the annual Design for Planet Festival and the World Design Congress 2025.
With over a decade of experience in cultural programming and operational management, Matthew has a distinguished track record across the arts and design sectors. Prior to his current role, he led the delivery of Goldsmiths’ Fair at The Goldsmiths’ Company, and held senior operational roles at Maddox Gallery and Unit London. His portfolio also includes acting as a freelance events producer and delivery manager for international platforms like the Affordable Art Fair, as well as with independent galleries and artists.
Matthew brings a significant global perspective to his work, having managed international gallery operations for a major Russian contemporary art museum. This expertise is underpinned by a background in large-scale logistics, developed through training during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. A dedicated advocate for the arts, Matthew remains deeply engaged in contemporary art and culture programming both in London and internationally.
