Matthew Burgess
Senior Events Manager
Matthew is the Design Council’s Senior Events Manager, supporting our mission of promoting design-led sustainability through thought-provoking panel discussions, industry networking events and the charity’s annual Design for Planet Festival.
Matthew brings with him a broad experience of events management, operations and marketing from across the arts and culture industries. In his previous roles he has led on a number of international and domestic fairs, delivery of museum-quality exhibition projects, as well as organising a wide-range of client and public-facing events. In addition to working with well-known international galleries and museums, his freelance work has also seen him working with individual artists and smaller galleries with ecological sustainability at their core.
In his spare time, Matthew can be found in London’s contemporary art spaces and often travels to visit blockbuster exhibitions. He also enjoys being in nature and going for walks along the river Thames.
