Design Council part of new Task Force to breathe new life into high streets and town centres
Design Council is delighted to be part of the High Streets Task Force, launched on 2 July, to support local leaders to breathe new life into high streets and town centres as they adapt to new consumer habits.
The Task Force will begin work during the summer, engaging with key stakeholders and developing and agreeing a project plan with the Government.
Sue Morgan, Director of Architecture and the Built Environment at Design Council, said: “Design Council has a well-deserved reputation for creating places which enable people and businesses to thrive. Our success lies in our ability to bring the right people together, understand what our communities need, and respond effectively. We’re therefore delighted to join the High Streets Task Force. We look forward to working together with fellow members, as we consider how we revive and reinvent our high streets and town centres which have changed so rapidly in recent years.”
Design Council’s purpose is to make life better by design. We are an independent charity and the government’s advisor on design. Our vision is a world where the role and value of design is recognised as a fundamental creator of value, enabling happier, healthier and safer lives for all. Through the power of design, we make better places, better products, better processes and better performance.
