Join us at New Designers 2016

24 May 2016 Written by By Chris Finnegan 2014-17 Marketing and Communications Manager

Join us at New Designers to hear our CEO John Mathers discuss the fundamental role that designers play in the changing market.

2016 marks the 31st edition of New Designers; the UK's largest design graduate show. This year the fresh-thinking and innovative designs of more than 3000 graduates will be on show, highlighting the rich mix and diverse talents of the UK's design economy. The Business Design Centre in Angel, north London, will once again be the show’s venue. The eight-day event features a set of very interesting talks, including our own at 11.45am on day two of ‘Part 2’, Thursday 7 July.

Our Chief Executive John Mathers will discuss Design Council’s view of trends within business and industry, and how skills and capabilities of graduates need to change to reflect them.

John will then be joined on the stage by DesignStudio’s Ben Wright who will discuss the new type of design agency that is transforming the sector. Ben founded DesignStudio in 2009 with his friend and fellow designer Paul Stafford. In just seven years, it has become a global brand and design agency with offices in both London and San Francisco. During that time, their team has helped clients such as Airbnb, Logitech and the Premier League build their brands and become more design-led.

Hear how Ben came to start DesignStudio, what he’s learned along the way, how he inspires his clients to think differently about design, and how he plans to keep DesignStudio at the cutting edge of creativity.
