Community-led design and development workshop & study tour

Community-led design and development workshop & study tour

27 October 2015

Overview

Find out how your tenant or community group can work with landlords to improve the design of new housing and help shape developments in your neighbourhood.

This event is focussed on the Green Man Lane Estate in Ealing, but will refer to successful projects elsewhere. With regard to Green Man you will hear from Ealing Council, A2 Dominion Housing Association and local residents to explore why they decided to build new homes and how residents were involved in design process.

Green Man Lane Estate is at a really useful stage half way through redevelopment with new and old side by side. The study tour will be led by stakeholders and residents involved directly in the project.

We will also be hearing from Brixton Green, a community group that is leading the design and development of a housing project for themselves.

This event is part of a package of activities that Design Council Cabe will be providing as part of DCLG's Community-led Development programme including training, briefing papers and working directly with a small number of tenant groups and landowners on live housing projects.  There will be two more free events in Bristol and Liverpool in January 2016.
