Meet up and make: good things happen in your area

Meet up and make: good things happen in your area

6 May 2014 Written by By Mollie Courtenay Junior Designer

Announcing a new series of free and friendly events in Southwark and Lambeth for people who want to make good things happen in their area.

Throughout the Knee High Design Challenge, we have met some wonderful, energetic and creative people. Not many recognised themselves as innovators or entrepreneurs, but we have witnessed huge potential, heard hundreds of new ideas and now, through this series, we hope to offer some encouragement and inspiration to turn these ideas into reality.

In partnership with Guys and St Thomas’ Charity, we are organising a series of five free meet ups throughout the summer. They will take place in the evening of the third Thursday of the month in venues across Southwark and Lambeth, kicking off on 15 May in Brixton.

The motivation to put on this series came from a recognition that there is enormous potential for local people to make amazing positive change in their area.

We know it’s sometimes tricky to feel confident to start something new, find people to help or know where to get funding. Through these informal events, we hope to help you learn something new and useful and meet other people who care about similar things.

A whole range of people will share their experiences with us throughout the summer. Speakers include local heroes, funders, investors, scientists, entrepreneurs, psychologists, and designers.
