Maria Giraldo

Programme Manager

As a Programme Manager at the Design Council, Maria plans and delivers projects that use design frameworks to help organisations build up their design capability and stewardship of local places and infrastructure.

With a background in community engagement and urban and architectural design projects, Maria brings together her experiences in projects from the UK to Berlin and her hometown in Medellin-Colombia. Additionally, she holds an MSc. in Building and Urban Design in Development from UCL with a focus on participatory planning, socio-spatial analysis and transdisciplinary design-research.

She advocates for marginalised communities - particularly the Latin American diaspora- and the role they have in community planning, volunteering some of her free time in different campaigns around London.

Outside of work she is passionate about all things food. From trying new restaurants to learning and experimenting in her kitchen.
