Andy Cripps

Trained as a product designer, he has experience spanning 25 years in the SME manufacturing sector with complementary experience in the retail, food and drink, technology and service sectors.

Prior to setting up independently in 2005, Andy worked in-house in both a variety of agencies and companies designing and managing projects for clients like Shell, Volvo Cars, HSBC, Argos and Coopers & Lybrand. Much of his subsequent private work with SMEs spans management consultants through to family-owned manufacturers and technology start-ups.

Since 2004 as a Design Associate with the Design Council he has worked with clients that include Gripple, Keelham Farm Shop, James Heal and Caverswall China.

Andy uses design thinking and tools to develop coherent design strategies that enable business growth. This informs both business vision and innovation, to shape and deliver user centred product and service experiences.

He is the project director for the EU project European House of Design Management at the Design Business Association in London. He has delivered lectures in professional practice at both Leeds Metropolitan and York St John universities and has been a Member of the Chartered Society of Designers since 1991.
